Hey all, I was luck enough to speak with Robert Englund a little while back, and I mentioned what a fan of hard boiled detectives I was. This prompted him to describe a Nightmare on Elm Street poster a fan had brought to a show for him to sign. He said he'd never seen another, and didn't know where it was from, but his description was basically the following:
Freddy Kruger, seen mostly in shadow, standing behind Nancy. Englund said that since Freddy's features were obscured, if it wasn't for the title it would look more like a film noir poster than a horror piece, with Freddy standing in for the fedora-clad private eye, and Nancy for his pretty client.
I've been looking around for the past month or so, but have seen nothing that could remotely fit this description. I suppose it could have been a video release ad or the like, but I just wanted to ask if this rings a bell for anyone. Anybody out there seen anything even kind of close to this?
