Before shuffling off to Bankruptcy Court, Missile Monsters, was one of the last
Republic serials to be re-edited from its original version (Flying Disc Man
from Mars) and released as a Theatrical Feature in 1958. There seem to be many
posters out there and it is sort of a minor cult item. There also seem to be 2
different styles and I am wondering if someone can share some info.

The style differences, to the best that I can tell are not art or content
differences at all. The posters are identical.... except that one version is on
typical late 50's paper in a dot lithograph style and the other version is on a
much heavier and more "rag" based stock. The printing on this heavy stock
version looks more like stone litho or silk screen, though I suspect it is
neither. The printing is a much richer and higher saturation color which
certainly makes the heavier paper a good choice. One can see the litho "dots"
on this version put they don't really look like printed dots. It is almost as
if a photo was taken of the "dot" style and then that was used for plates for
this color rich style. Any info appreciated.

Thanks,

Phil Ayling
