Thanks for your feedback, Sue. It'll be interesting to see how much the
one sheet sells for. Just another example of the intricacies of the hobby
and how a inexperienced buyer can easily get burned...

Hi Rick,
I would agree this poster looks faded. It is somewhat difficult to know
for sure how faded, since the photograph isn't that great. I deal alot with
faded posters as many collectors are looking to switch out posters they
framed years ago in glass to UV filtered plexiglass. The problem is that the
framing in glass has left the poster faded and often yellowed. This poster
has all the earmarks of that. Typically when fading occurs the last colors to
go are pink and blue and this poster looks pink instead of the definite
orange and dark pink that is the original image. I just framed a mint
condition original that had never been used and it didn't look anything like
this.
Orange is one of the fastest colors to fade, hence why Vertigo and Cool
Hand Luke are typically posters that fade easy if not framed or displayed
correctly. Once fading has occured, a restorer can only airbrush colors back
to normal and, to me, that's costly and severely diminishes the value. So,
that's my take.......

Subject: [MOPO] Does this Dirty Harry one sheet on eBay look faded to you?
Thoughts on fading?
To: [email protected]

Hi, all,

This one sheet is listed as being in excellent condition, but it appears
to be faded to me. Fading is probably the worst thing to happen to a
poster condition-wise. I'd rather have some paper loss on a poster that has
vibrant colors than a faded poster any day. But all too often fading isn't
mentioned in descriptions. I kind of think it's the kiss of death for a
poster...especially a one sheet on the type of gloss stock that was primarily
used from the 70's on. Does anyone else have any particular thoughts on this?
