This is pure genius!

As a Cary Grant collector, I was shocked when I got the 1-sheet for Crisis.  
This was BG (Before Gore invented the internet) and we just crossed our fingers 
and hoped what showed up in the mail didn't totally suck.  You can see it at:

The question I have is why??  At some point, someone told me that this was so 
that theaters could cut up the posters to make their own custom lobby displays. 
 Is there any truth in this??  

Inquiring minds want to know.
