There is a lesson to be learned here, The "Stooge market" was primarily
based on the buying of a few old-time collectors, most of whom no longer
collect. This is very similar to some other niche markets. I remember when
Michael Jackson bought every Shirley Temple poster that came along, and
prices soared. When he quit buying, the Shirley market tanked.

But while some areas fade, others soar. And sometimes some out-of-favor
markets make a comeback. It is in the nature of collecting. If a mega-rich
person started collecting on say, El Brendle, tomorrow, then in no time his
posters would be among the priciest there are!
