Hi
Long time lurker and very sporadic poster here!
Have loved reading all the conversations over the years, from forgeries
to amazing finds, the arguments and off-topic messing around. Most of
the discussions on here are out of my league as I'm a modern film
poster collector, but the knowledge I've learnt with regards older
paper is amazing.
I've decided to try and post a bit more this year, not only to get up
the noses of vintage paper collectors with my modern photoshopped
garbage :-) but hopefully add my two penneth worth when there's
discussions afoot.
The Saturday just gone I managed to amble down to Westminster in London
to the 'London Film Memorabilia Convention' which I've been visiting
for over 10 years (I think!). I have always loved going and have bought
some great posters there, a Polish Star Wars C3PO being my favourite.
This year I got chatting to several stall holders from the US, all
lovely people who took time out to chew the cud. I'm really bad with
names and never asked who they were, I gambled with one guy asking if
he was a member of the allposterforum.com but he said he wasn't, just
MOPO. The great thing is, after posting some photos I took on the
forum, Chris (I think it's his name, he runs movieposterbid.com) said
he knew them all and mentioned who they were.
Cory (Glaberson) thanks for taking the time to chat, quality to meet
you. Also, Lee and Sharon (Brinsmead) I appreciated the search for a
Goldfinger lobby card, next time you may prise some money out of my
wallet! And last but not least, thanks to Randy (Vanderbeek) and his
lovely wife for taking time to chat and show me their cards (I was
sorely tempted by that black and white Outlaw one!) Hope the sales went
well for y'all!
Anyways, I better not ramble as I usually do, till the next time.
Ian

tomorrow I think
