That's actually pretty ingenious Neil. If "proficient911" did the same with a different ID, the "tip off" to sellers would unfortunately come POST-auction, when he/she sends you a note from his bullshit "U.S address" saying, "hey, I'd like you to ship 2 of the 15 items I won to my brother in Greece." You as a seller could refuse based on eBay protection policies for PayPal and confirmed addresses, but it'd still be a big hassle - and you'd risk a negative from a jerk with zero feedback. But I still think the "blanket ban on Greece" is the best temp solution for sellers still using eBay.

I run two ebay contact/shipping address: one UK and one US that I toggle between so that I can bid on American auctions that are restricted non-US bidders. If I win a US auction I get the item sent to my brother's house in PA and forwarded on to me. I have never had to provide any information to ebay re: these addresses, I just set them up (and could set them up in Timbukto and Biafra should I so desire). It seems blocking "proficient911" from bidding is just one way to stop him. But if you want to permanently prevent that buyer from messing up your sales - why not, if he/she registers with a new ID - just ban bidders from Greece altogether? -d. If you're still using eBay, why don't you guys just ban buyers from Greece? I know it's draconian, but things are unsettled over there, e.g., like dealing a buyer registered in Nigeria. All eBay members are identified by the country from which they registered - and all sellers now have the ability to create a "default-country-by-country-exclusions list" on their selling templates. I'm not going to risk selling to countries with unreliable economies or postal systems. The only loophole question I'd have is: Is it possible for a bad eBay member to get a new ID - but register from a country that differs from what eBay requires to join? -d.
