Wanted to buy for MY WIFE: A DOUBLE-SIDED, unfolded IMAX version one-sheet for
the 2012 3-D release of "Titanic" - in very fine to mint condition. (The EXACT
image she wants - is web-hosted below). Will pay $100 for truly exceptional
condition and tough packing. (Or contact me if you have circumstances
warranting special consideration.)

Meanwhile, I saw the film w/her on Wednesday and will post my impressions of
this oft-ridiculed 1997 Best Picture winner later. Or maybe I'll just say it
was visually and emotionally spectacular, way better than I remembered by a
long-shot, a pop-culture touchstone that I've spent more than 14 years
dismissing and defending at the same time. The immersive nature of the
big-screen and the film's presentation as an old-fashioned,
golden-age-of-cinema-type-of-romance - against an epic and extremely
destructive final 90 minutes - makes a difference. I was prepared to hate and
groan during every minute. But the 3-D is the best I've seen for a picture
originally shot in 2-D - and I'd forgotten how violently thrilling and kinetic
the story becomes in its second half. In my view, the passage of time -
incredibly - has been kind to this film's many faults - and for me, was oddly
enhanced by my awareness of two extremely young actors who have since become
among the finest of their generation.
