Also there is an inherent lack of provenance in a poster--even if you take a photo. I like The Marx Brothers and Houdini enough to get their autographs, but if I am going to pay that much I'll get it on a contract or letterhead as legal documents can't be beat. Posters just seem lessened in value and I always wonder if the signatures are authentic. Like the Duck Soup posters supposedly signed by Groucho--how would you prove he signed that if it was being sold today?
