There are a number of people who offer to provide authentication for
autographs. In my opinion, if they did not obtain the autograph in person,
then they should not state categorically that it is authentic irrespective
of how much experience and expertise they may have. The reality is that the
forgers are also experts.

I know this list is for movie poster collectors and dealers but I thought
maybe somebody could offer some info regarding getting autographs
authenticated. I live in Michigan and I have some sports and entertainment
related autographs that I have accumulated over the years that I would like
to try and get authenticated. One of my friends suggested using
Professional Sports Authenticator http://www.psacard.com/ which I guess is
one of the largest companies out there. They are located in california
which would require me to mail my items to them to be checked out. Does
anybody have any suggestions on the best companies to use for autograph
authentication? If any companies are located in the Midwest of course that
would be a bonus. Thanks for any help and feel free to email me off the
list since if this is too off topic.
