Good morning Marx MoPo'ers, I am soliciting (that doesn't sound good!) to see if the collector who purchased the Marx Brothers "A Day at the Races" 3-Sheet Style "A" from the Sotheby's Auction in 2000 (New York, Saturday, October 28, 2000, Lot# 139) would be interested in allowing that poster to be scanned for the purchase of the artwork being the books color cover artwork?
It is a wonderful full-color Al Hirschfeld illustration of a horse sipping beer while Groucho sips milk, Harpo a shot glass, and Chico coffee. I have the color Campaign Book image, but that's not going to cut it for the cover. But, the original stone-litho color art would be perfect.
