Bruce, 'Note that an expert collector pointed out that this poster is a very rare first print! This green title style was used mainly in drive-in theaters and "B" movie theaters which didn't show big studio movies. Once the film started gaining popularity, a second printing with red titles was created.'
this is only half-true. DAWN OF THE DEAD was first released in a 16mm version which was accompanied by the 'green title' onesheet. Once the movie started gaining popularity, it was COMPLETELY RE-EDITED, before it saw a wider release with new, 35mm prints. The red title onesheet was made for the 35mm release. Technically, you could of course call this a 'second printing', but the two different posters were indeed used for significantly different versions of the movie. Btw, filmposter.net has a nice linenbacked copy of the green title, 16mm poster for sale. Email me if interested.
