Thanks for the heads-up about this seller, Helmut and Wolfgang. I've heard
about these reprints, but never seen one. How accurate are they? Apart
from the signs you've already mentioned, is there any obvious difference when
you look at them close up, for example print quality, paper type, size
variation?
As for kinoplakate.de, my German is a bit rusty, but is he really offering
to fold up rolled posters to reduce postage costs??

I second that...The seller even took my image from an original German
Bullitt from my site.
On an original the title is red, on the reprint its brownish.

The source for reprints of these two titles by the way is
www.kinoplakate.de
The black Apocalypse Now he lists as an 80s rerelease (after me and Helmut
insisted some years ago that it's not original) which is still bullsh... as
there was no rerelease with this image.
Bullitt he lists as original - it's a reprint.

Best,
Wolfgang

Betreff: [MOPO] Seller Warning: Fake german APOCALYPSE NOW on eBay

This poster, currently listed as 'original german' by german eBay seller
'cinefrance' is definitely a fake:

ovie-Poster-/330821023956?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d067838d4

I have probably handled more original copies of this poster than anybody
else in the hobby, and EVERY single one of them had a small white printing
defect near the bottom border. On the fake version, this defect is missing.
(You can clearly see the defect on the high resolution images on the
Heritage website, for example.) Upon request, the seller sent me an image
of
the actual poster, so there's no doubt about the matter.

Also, I have strong reason to believe that the german BULLITT poster listed
by the same seller is also a forgery.

The seller is perfectly aware that he's selling forgeries, and I already
contacted him about this matter, and asked him to cancel the listing, but
to
no avail.

Helmut
