MoPo Hit or Missive:
Hey there. Was wondering if anyone else was able to view the great Wizard of Oz
items at Julien's auction this weekend? Was very fun to see the Dorothy dress,
and who knew there was a secret compartment, that sneaky Adrian ;)
Bid on the rare OZ keybook images, but they got caught up in a bidding vortex
and couldn't keep up--when the house hammer finally landed, they were at
$33,000 plus--that's more than enough for a few 1930s Kansas farmhouses (horses
and farmhands not included.)
Hoping the new owners might think about seeing a few of these rare photos
published in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of the film in 2014. If they
would and you guys know them, please feel free to forward them my information.
Happy to give them the Warner Brothers contacts that I have and am sure
something fun could be published. I'm finding a few good items here and there
to send up in a proposal, but as most of you know my arena is more of the
poster art for the film, but obviously have a penchant for all things
Munchkins. Have a few fun things that my former Munchkin Coroner friend,
Meinhardt Raabe signed and certainly would give one to anyone who helped with
this one.
No ulterior motives here, what you see (sadly in my case ;) is what you get.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Veteran's Day (wasn't it called something else
before? Oh, well a "Farewell to Armistice?)
Best to everyone,
