OK well here is my new year prediction based on my uneducated Guess..
Its kinda spooky out there yet if we weigh out all sides...
the bad stuff 1st... the Christmas season was soft.. for me real
small as i have been slow to even offer items.. I plan to and hope
there are people buying as I think it will be a good time to buy and
sell.. there is less material out there that is Good and also few
dealers that's offer good service. many are retiring, etc.. so more
material will come fresh to market and many new collectors in the
3050 sector will get into the hobby as it increases in pop culture
art status and commodity..
Evidence- the recent sales of Cherishes where said to exceed his last
years sale, The Metropolis poster sale. and other important auctions
did well. all the regular dealers seem to report strong sales.. As
far as banyan other venues Its seems like the organized and tech
savvy Guys are doing OK...
so that leaves the general public, the white collar Job sector.
unemployed, and those in hardship..financial or displaced workers...
what ive noticed is we are attempting to dig out, reunite and forge
ahead..its been slow, real slow... and lots of logjams..My housing
councilor quit or was fired after losing my paperwork and not filing
with lender, sure that bummed me a few days before Christmas.. and my
health issues linger and I am getting frustrated but I will get some
things going.. because that's what we do in the USA and if you think
world wide.. as we need to rebuild, adapt and find new
ways..personally I have spoke to many people about creating things to
help non-profits and even helping create programs to help
unemployed.. Many of the calls and meeting go nowhere and doors get
closed... BUT I keep planting seeds, asking, and even though the
cliff gets closer in my world also I have to keep trying as we all do
as no one is solvent in their lives either..
the recent disturbing news of Shootings and public concern over
mental illness , is well taken ,, however there seems to be people
that are scared of so many things like the end of the world recent
rumor..
anything can happen and will.. However I keep thinking we can avert
all this by simply changing our education with the kids and society
by addressing the basic issues..Like getting along which is all we
have tried to do since biblical times... If we can modify attitudes
and work in a united world I think we may insure the futures for all
mankind.. if not it seems pretty certain we will phase our species
out.. by greed, stupidity and negative Ideas
I am not sure what the number crunchier think and it could get very
ugly this year by the news statements.. However we have made some
strides In JOBS, in new projects, Car sales and a home resurge of
sales and many other sectors,, I would call this a year of adjustment
as we all adjust and re-invent.. If we keep a positive attitude with
some opening of credit and lees tax increase and more stimulus I
think we could dig out.. I think its imperative they get a deal in
place for the USA taxpayers as a mental infuse as much as a boost to
the security so that Business leaders will make investment in IDEAS
and JOBS..that spark would make sense in many areas.. then they could
Fine tune the programs and keep people employed....if they don't and
increase the taxes the effect will slow the people of the workforce
and diminish the headway they had started... everyone will lose ,
rich, middle and poor...incomes..
continued help to the unemployed and re-training workers for new
ventures would be well spent and keep industry evolving and also keep
many skilled workers ready to do new projects..
well that's my take.. I am not at all experienced in these areas its
just a common man opinion from my view.. I wish everyone a happy new
year and hope we all can find peace, opportunity and a way to help
each other have a healthy productive life and family..
