Does anyone know of the existence of the 3-sheet "B" from the "Wizard of Oz?"
This is not the yellow background one with the characters skipping down it, but
the center artwork by Al Hirschfeld Dorothy, Tin Woodsman, Scarecrow, and
Cowardly lion left to right when viewing the poster. I have heard of a US three
sheet existing and possibly a Spanish three sheet as well. Very hard to find,
but would be really cool to finally show one of these in time for the 75th
anniversary of the film in 2014. It is possible that this would be somehow
incorporated into the re-release of the film, as they should have new posters
for the 3D re-release, but who knows.
Also, anyone with any still images of either the 15 August 1939 Grauman's
Chinese Theatre opening, which show Harold Lloyd, or Maud Gauge Baum, or the
interior of the theatre--or exterior, please let me know. Or any of the NYC
Capitol theatre on 17 August 1939 for the release there.
