Nearest city for me is the city of perpignan , the oldest movie theater there
still operating is the castillet , build in 1911 by Font who started with a
movie theater in Barcelona in 1906

Back when i was young living in belgium there was a small movie theater not
far from my village that was build in 1924 and is still running , back in the
1920s several theaters in our area were build by a rich industrial , most were
closed down during the early 80s , the one in the village of lichtervelde never
closed and was run by the daughter , last time i saw her a couple of years ago
she was in her nineties and still very passionate by the cinema , i once spend
an afternoon there talking about the history of her movie theater , proud to
run the oldest theater in belgium , she was well respected , sometimes getting
the same deals from the major companies that the multicomplexes get . Sadly she
passed away but her family decided to continue her lifelong work ( the theater
was not run for the money so it's really great to see family members
continuing her dream , please note the theater is a one screen venue , when
it's your birthday you still get in for free )
