I have about 120 one-sheets currently standing back-to-back against a wall in
my living room, with 2 each in one poly sleeve plus acid-free backing board
(all from Bags Unltd). I have them numbered with circle sticky on the upper
right corner on outside of poly, and catalogued so I can quickly locate
individual titles. Nothing new there. However, this “loose” arrangement could
certainly use some refinement. When I was more frequently on this site 5-10
years ago, I recall someone posting that they had come up with a “display box”,
just for this kind of arrangement, that, as I recall, was basically a
rectangular framework with opening at top that was hinged, and was deep enough
(probably 2’) to accommodate a considerable number of posters displayed the way
I’ve described. Like I said, this was basically a complete box, with boards on
both sides, front and rear, and bottom, but with the hinged top. This acted as
the “storage” unit. Additionally, he had fashioned a small, top-loadable,
wooden “skeleton” frame on the front that was only about 1/4” deep, and open at
the top, through which you could drop the one sheet of your choice for display.
Sounded like an excellent idea for storing and displaying one-sheets (or
obviously could be made up for HS’s, Inserts, etc., if desired) without that
haphazard look I’ve got now.
Anyone remember anything about this item, who may have authored the
information, or if anything like this currently exists out there?
