Hi,
For those of us who collect MARILYN MONROE photography yesterday was a
milestone day seeing record prices reached for original camera negatives
and transparencies taken of her by MILTON H. GREENE. Profiles in History
auctioned 82 lots containing hundreds of Greene's images of Marilyn with
prices reaching as high as $30,000.00 for the "Black Cape and Fur" image
shown below.
The packed auction bidding room filled with voracious Marilyn Monroe
collectors saw the day's total go over a reported $1.5 Million setting new
records.
This week I have a great vintage 1957 stamped photograph that Greene took
of Marilyn as part of the advance advertising work for "THE PRINCE AND THE
SHOWGIRL" which ends in auction tonight.
A group lot of Milton H. Greene's "THE PRINCE AND THE SHOWGIRL" photographs
