I have to agree with John.
When bidding on an item, I never watch it. I hit the gavelsnipe-it button, set 
my snipe and forget all about it (gavelsnipe sends updates as to current bid 
and then closing bid when it's over).
The only time I add an item to my watch list is when I have no intention of 
bidding.
