We have a spectacular poster for OLIVER! that I bought some years ago from
Bruce Hershenson and which we had linen backed. It’s is for the U.S. premiere
- pre-Oscar of course - of
OLIVER! on December 10, 1968.

The poster is on our site.

I am reminded of this because I received in the mail today, from Screen
Archives Entertainment, the new Blu-Ray of the film and it is spectacularly
re-mastered. The music sounds
like it NEVER sounded in any video release - very good. And the overtures to
both segments of the movie and the exit music is included. Also a complete
soundtrack of the
film is included. I have often wondered with the CD market as anemic as it is
why more of these reissued Blu-Rays did not include the soundtrack.

It’s amazing to me that this remastering is done by Twilight Films and not from
Columbia. But I don’t know all the ins and outs of the Blu-Ray business.
Anyway, Twilight
has done an immaculate job on this.

According to Screen Archives Entertainment’s website they are doing a limited
pressing of 3000 discs.

If you love this film, this is a wonderful Blu-Ray of it.

I saw the film at the Windsor Cinerama in Houston. Even though this was not a
CINERAMA film, they were showing it there on the deep-curved screen. That
theater had
absolutely terrific sound.
