At least now I feel less bad being the under bidder!

Subject: [MOPO] eMoviePoster.com auctions Houdini poster to illusionist David
Copperfield for world record price of $67,166!

*eMoviePoster.com auctions Houdini poster to illusionist David Copperfield
for world record price of $67,166!*

The original 1919 movie poster from The Grim Game, starring Harry Houdini,
sold Tuesday night for $67,166, a new auction record for any Houdini poster
(movie or magic). It was purchased by legendary illusionist David
Copperfield.

It was included in Part II of eMoviePoster.com's five part December Major
Auction. As of this writing, two of the five parts have concluded, with
total sales of $429,075 thus far. eMoviePoster.com is located in tiny West
Plains, Missouri (population 12,270), and yet they have auctioned more
movie posters for more total money than any other movie poster auction in
the world, including the world's largest, like Christie's and Sotheby's,
which have offices in every major city worldwide.

eMoviePoster.com was founded in 1989 by Bruce Hershenson, who organized
million dollar auctions for various auction houses, and he then moved his
entire operation to eBay in 2000, and in 2008, he opened his own auction
site located on the Internet at eMoviePoster.com (and it is a 100%
Internet-based business). In 2012, eMoviePoster.com had sales of over four
million dollars, and thus far in 2013, their sales are four and a half
million dollars.

How does eMoviePoster.com, which has just 30 employees, as opposed the
thousands of employees of the major auction houses, auction so much more
than they do, and how do they attract so many quality consignments (like
the Houdini poster just auctioned)? They have no fancy showrooms or printed
catalogs, so they have no buyers premiums, and charge the lowest
commissions of ANY major auction house. Plus, they give a lifetime
guarantee on every item they sell (as to originality and authenticity),
while all other major auctions have a "Buyer Beware" policy where they are
not liable for pretty much anything about the items they sell!

There are still three remaining parts to eMoviePoster.com's current
December Major Auction, and they close on 12/5, 12/8, and 12/10. And they
are always actively seeking more consignments for future auctions!
