We received the following e-mail from a customer recently:

"I think I got some nice pieces... but I'm kinda poor and this is an
extravagance... I feel it becoming an addiction. Better then most things
that can grab you and not let go. So I won't eat for a week or 2! I'm not a
collector...

Seriously... beyond the purchases themselves... the site; the auction was
really interesting; getting to see who bid on what lots, which is not true
in almost any other auctions; almost getting a feeling of who has similar
tastes... there was one person in-particular who was interested in almost
exactly the same pieces as I was. I'm embarrassed to say it; but beating
him was part of the rush. I don't really know the value of the pieces; I
just know what I like. There were some obvious 'professionals' in the game
bidding against me.

Again; as I told Ellicia during our telephone conversation... your site and
business model is really extraordinary given what's generally out there on
the web. So bravo to you all on your end.

As you can see; in your records I was successful in winning 4 items
tonight. Before I pay for them I would like to remind you to add the fixed
price item I added which would bring the total to 5 pieces.

I'm assuming I'll be sent a total inventory of the 5. If it's not your
policy; you'll remember I'm just feeling my way around your system... I
will check your site for a total listing. I've already received an e-mail
detailing the 4 items won at auction tonight.

Thank you for your attention and all your assistance. One additional
thing... I'm sure I need not mention it; but would you please mark the
package *FRAGILE & DO NOT BEND*. Being in New York; Brooklyn as a matter of
fact, our mail carriers can have "odd" ideas of sport... like... how much
can be stuffed into any given mailbox."

Ellicia replied:

"I would like to say that your e-mail was a joy to read. I'll pass it along
to Bruce and Phil, so they can enjoy it as well. I'm very glad that you
enjoyed the auction, and I'm happy you won some nice pieces. I can
understand how beating someone would be part of the rush. There
*ARE*"professionals" (full-time dealers) in our auctions.

As to your fifth item, as of now, fixed priced items do not show up on the
checkout (but we are working on making this happen). However, it is on your
account. That leaves you with 5 pieces and a balance of $xxxx. I have your
account noted: "Mark all packages: *FRAGILE & DO NOT BEND*". (We hope this
will keep you out of the "sport" which your mail carriers participate in,
and know that we put "*DO NOT BEND*" on all packages, and we pack the best
of any auction we know of, because we the package has a lot to go through
to get from us to you, and we always want purchases to get to the buyers in
the same condition they were when they left our building.)

You can pay by calling me up at 417-256-9616, or by e-mailing your
information, or by sending PayPal to [email protected].

Thanks!
Ellicia"
