She was surely special and the 3 sheet is beautiful reminder of how bright
her star was. Thanks Kirby. I used to watch her films on TV in the 50's and
60's while growing up in Los Angeles and I loved them, even if Roy Rogers
and Commando Cody were more my style.

While I see the trades referring to the passing of Shirley Temple, I notice
much of TV and Radio is referring to the passing of Shirley Temple Black and
referring to her political and humanitarian life as much as her films. To
what extent that might be a generational thing? While it is fair to say that
the passing of Philip Seymour Hoffman and Paul Walker occurred under
sensational circumstances, I wonder just how well Shirley Temple is known to
today's DVD buying public compared to other stars from the 30's whose films
still seem to be exhibited with some frequency? May she and Bill Robinson
be dancing again through eternity.

RIP

Subject: [MOPO] LITTLE MISS BROADWAY

One of the last great film icons of the 30s has passed. There just aren't
very many left.

Shirley Temple film posters were really some of the first collected. LIFE
magazine once did a big color

spread called FOOFS - Friends of Old Films - which featured Jane Withers and
her film poster collection, many of

which were Shirley Temple one sheets and larger format posters. This LIFE
magazine issue was done in the mid-eighties.

That stuff might be online somewhere. Jane was "the poor man's Shirley
Temple", another Fox child star.

At the risk of incurring ire, and being branded as crass, I will post this
link to our site and one of the best

Temple three sheets, I think.
