Only around 27,000 of the eventual 200,000 added images are "stock".
As you say, they *ARE *all images of the posters we actually sold, just that they are not all matched up to which one we sold which day back between 1990 and 2005. The "Police Call" 3-sheet described above is a perfect example. We had a dozen or more of that poster, and we auctioned them one by one. We *COULD *spend hours trying to match up the multiple images we have of it to those dozen or more auctions, but instead we just take a good image, put "*STOCK IMAGE*" on it, and add it to the dozen or more results for that title. In the big scheme of things, does it really matter for this title? But for the vast majority of the other 173,000 or so images, we *ARE *adding the actual image of what we sold on that day (but on some, we have slight doubts, so we will mark that on those images). So that is nice to have so many more images added, even if they are from 1990 to 2005, because in a fair number of cases that is the *ONLY *time we sold that item. Is it worth the huge amount of money I spent on labor sorting out and identifying 200,000 images? Surely not. But the end result will be a wonderful database that will be of even more use than it is already.
