it's entirely possible there was a copyrights issue regarding the title

I've heard of the other cases, of course, but with Deadly is the
Female/Gun Happy, there were two separate releases and two separate
posters. In the case of Danger is my Beat, there is no reference to
it ever being called that in the usual places one goes on the
internet. The iMDB mentions an alternate title of Anchorage
Dynamite. The ONLY place I see Danger is My Beat is on the poster
so I think Jay's assumption about a name change before release is
probably correct. The NSS numbers are the same.

Channing: it has happened before in movie poster history, sometimes
like with HOT BLOOD becoming THE WILD ONE, and the posters being
redone, so that we are not just talking about a title
change. SUSPICION (with a few lobby cards initially created titled
AFTER THE FACT) is another example, as is THE WOMAN ON PIER 13 (at
first under the title I MARRIED A COMMUNIST).

Thanks Jay -- anyone else have any ideas on my question? I think
Jay's theory sounds probable but I don't think I've ever seen it
happen before. Thanks, Channing

It looks like Allied Artists printed a number of posters up before
it was decided to re-title the movie as Murder Is My Beat. Sounds
more menacing. Arent there other examples, especially of noir
films, that did this kind of title change, even tho posters had
already been produced?
It's a great looking insert, regardless.
