Wolfgang, youre right in most of what you say but lately there has been the added issue of some sellers items not turning up when you click on See Other Items, whether they only ship to the US or not. It seems to have nothing to do with preferences chosen by the seller.
This has been going on for about three weeks now and I believe it has affected my own listings as well, since my eBay sales dropped sharply at the beginning of March when I first noticed this. I have no idea whether this is a glitch or another part of the effort by eBay to drive off small sellers. Ive found one way to get around this is to change the eBay site you are using to view the listings. For example, change it from ebay.com to ebay.ca or ebay.co.uk or ebay.de or ebay.fr. Thats worked for me, anyway. When I select all items from that seller 0 results. So US ebay (same: the other ebay sites) hides maybe 50% of all items from non-US visitors. Isnt that somewhat strange not being able to even see them? What makes it even worse: You cannot send a seller who selected ships to US only (maybe he just didnt change the pre-selection) a simple question or message to ask if he maybe would send to Germany (in my case) with all fees paid.
