Our very special Star Wars set of auctions ends *TONIGHT*, Thursday, May
1st, beginning at 7 PM CST at
*http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/1/14.html*<http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/1/14.html>.
This collection of 91 Star Wars items contains almost every style of U.S.
one-sheet from the first three movies (episodes IV, V and VI), and not only
does it include both the "NSS style" and the "studio style" from each
(where both were made), but also, *EVERY* one of those one-sheets are
*UNFOLDED*, and they are *ALL* in excellent condition!
Every long time collector of Star Wars material knows that it is
next-to-impossible to find the NSS styles of the one-sheets from the first
three Star Wars unfolded, so *HOW* does this collection contain almost all
of them? The answer is that a single collector, Kevin Doyle, who saw Star
Wars in 1977 and loved the movie then began a decades long quest to obtain
all of the US one-sheets that had been produced.
He soon learned that both "NSS styles" and "studio styles" for almost
every style of one-sheet had been produced. (if *YOU* don't know what this
means, please be sure to go
*HERE*<http://www.emovieposter.com/announcements.php?id=738>:
* http://www.emovieposter.com/announcements.php?id=738
<http://www.emovieposter.com/announcements.php?id=738>*, where you will
find a complete detailed explanation). But he quickly discovered that while
all of those one-sheets could be obtained, it was between extremely
difficult and impossible to find the "NSS styles" unfolded.
That started him on a quest to find all of the one-sheets in an
unfolded state, and he *WAS* able to find them for a high percentage of the
different posters. Many of these NSS style posters are so rare to find
unfolded that they are only offered every few years, and there are some
that are never offered! But on May 1st, every one of these posters will
have a new owner, and in the case of several of them, they may not be
offered again for a *VERY* long time, if ever (three of them are the
*ONLY*examples that has ever been seen of the NSS style of that poster
without
folds, and one of those is the *ONLY* example of the poster that has ever
been seen, folded or unfolded)!
The collection also includes one-sheets from the "other" three movies
(episodes I, II, and III), and also some unusual and rare posters that are
not one-sheets. You will find many items that are also rarely offered for
sale, so be sure to look over all of the 91 items very carefully. The
phrase "once in a lifetime" is certainly drastically overused, but this
really likely *IS* a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase many Star
Wars one-sheets that are almost never offered unfolded, and they will all
be sold at one time on one day!
Just two days ago, the cast for the long awaited *SEVENTH *Star Wars
movie was announced at Starwars.com (at
*http://starwars.com/news/star-wars-episode-7-cast-announced.html*<http://starwars.com/news/star-wars-episode-7-cast-announced.html>).
Here's what they said:
"The *Star Wars* team is thrilled to announce the cast of *Star Wars*:
Episode VII. Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac,
Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original
stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony
Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.
Director J.J. Abrams says, 'We are so excited to finally share the
cast of *Star Wars*: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch
the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together
to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of
weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud.'
*Star Wars*: Episode VII is being directed by J.J. Abrams from a
screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams,
and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer.
The movie opens worldwide on December 18, 2015."
Just like James Bond or the Universal monsters, the Star Wars franchise is
timeless, because new movies can forever be made, and they are not
dependent on individual stars who age! There will be new characters (and
likely re-casting of old beloved characters) but the movies themselves will
continue to be made, surely outliving everyone reading this. This insures
that the original posters will continue to have strong collectible desire
and value, as more and new fans are created by first seeing the new movies
and then discovering the earlier ones. This is especially true of the
posters from Episodes IV, V, and VI, because many of them were produced in
limited quantities and are already quite difficult to locate, especially in
excellent condition. This will only become more and more true over the
coming years, as many of these become "locked away" in collections!
Currently, with just hours to go, almost all of these 91 Star Wars items
are quite a bit under where the same (or similar) items have sold for in
the past. This is surely because many bidders are waiting for near the end
to bid (see below for more on this). I know that many of you are collectors
but that some of you are dealers (and some *BOTH*!) and either way, *YOU
REALLY SHOULD CONSIDER LOOKING OVER ALL THESE ITEMS AND PLACING AS MANY
BIDS AS MAKE SENSE TO YOU* (if some items are going to sell inexpensively,
then why shouldn't *YOU* get those good buys?). But you can't do that
unless you bid, so why not go right now to
*http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/14.html
<http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/14.html>* and look at the many
bargains?
*SOME IMPORTANT ADVICE ABOUT OUR AUCTIONS, WHICH DIFFER FROM MANY OTHER
AUCTIONS IN A FEW KEY WAYS: *Please remember that in our auctions, a
*LOT*of the bidders like to wait near the end of the auctions to place
their
bids! So don't get a false sense of security just because you have had the
high bid for almost all of the seven days an item has been on for, *BECAUSE
ON BETTER ITEMS, IT IS NOT UNUSUAL FOR THEM TO DOUBLE OR TRIPLE IN PRICE IN
THE CLOSING HOURS OR EVEN MINUTES*. But also remember that our auctions
have "time extended bidding", which means that five minutes must go by
without a bid before an auction closes, so you can *NEVER* have an item
snatched away from you in the final seconds (but you have to be watching
the item as it closes, to make certain that no one entered a higher bid
than yours in the closing minutes).
Good luck on whatever you may bid on in *our very special Star Wars set of
auctions ending TONIGHT, Thursday, May 1st* *at
http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/14.html
<http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/14.html>. *This is a truly remarkable
group of posters, collected over decades, but *ALL *those items will have
new owners later tonight!
