I also had a thought about perhaps and international version with the “foreign”
stamp on the back. Would these have been two different print runs from two
different printers. I remember once reading that the foreign posters were done
out of another location. Anybody have one of the text overrun versions
unbacked that could take a peek at the verso?

Thanks for your feedback guys. I am not trying to start a witch hunt, just am
curious.

Best,

Charlie

Couldn't it also be that the text overrun version is the first printing and the
one on your wall is the second printing? I don't think the printing of posters
were following any strict standards. I could easily see the printer being shown
the problem and fixing it for the second batch of posters. According to my
sources at the old National Screen, typically only 4 to 6 thousand posters were
delivered to Kansas City and they would often run out and order more from the
printer.

This may have already been brought up and solved. I was about to e-mail a
seller that his linenbacked BAT US OS was fake because the small text overran
the printing “L” on the left and right side at the bottom. All text is within
the “L”s on my unbacked version. The text had also shifted dramatically.
Could this be a second printing or possible restrike? I am leaning towards a
second printing…

I’ve presented more of this here :

Your input is most welcome!
