That plugin works just fine as does the USPS one - I presume you know
the plugin needs to be able to talk to USPS API, which means it uses
wp_remote_post which makes use of fsockopen/CURL. Personally I wouldn't
bother levering the USPS plugin into it just to try and be 100% accurate
with the rates based on weights, dimensions etc etc, just find a flat
rate based on you average size/weight - far easier. You'll be there for
ever and a day trying to calculate prices eg what happens when you have
a rolled and a flat pack, 'cause that's two packages!
In order to set sales tax by zip/postcode you have to set the code to
the 2 digit shortcode (see here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._state_abbreviations).
Good luck - I suppose if you are going to jump in the deep end you may
as well do it wearing a 100cwt weight belt!

Any of you mavins know which system is the most "user-friendly" for the USPS
shipping option that allows customizing package sizes and weights. Most of my packages
are not FLAT RATE. The USPS Web Tool info on their site looks very complicated.
Anyone have experience with WooCommerce's shipping extension plug-in to
compare it with the USPS site in ease or function? Or is there a different
plug-in that's easier to use?
Second big question at the moment - Is there a web tool that automatically
calculates correct CA sales tax by zip code?
Learning way more about this than any paper-lover should ever have to - but
want to get it right.
