Hi Kirby

I also have posters that were linen backed 20 years ago and they are fine.
All have been stored in the same place as the ones that have foxing. That's
why I am convinced that the backer did not mix the paste properly.

Thanks for this contribution.  I do want anyone reading this to know,
however, that I have linen-backed posters that

I have had for 15 years easily that do not exhibit these problems.

 

It's also good to remember that all collectors do not have the mandate of an
archivist - as a museum might, for example.

 

That said, vigilant concern for one's posters is a good idea.  Many more
posters, I think, are ruined by leaky plumbing, plexi not

filtered for UV etc, general carelessness than are damaged by well-trained,
seasoned restorers.
