Nice try, Greg, but I'm pretty sure you sold me your TEENAGE ZOMBIES lobby set a few years back. I distinctly remember I could hear the sobbing and gnashing of teeth all the way from Canada! You really didn't want to let it go. Now I know why. ;)

It is the first lobby card I ever saw. My dad was driving up Market Street in San Francisco shortly after I had received my first catalog from Theater Poster Exchange. I was still a little fuzzy on the concept of a lobby card or a lobby card set (they cost a whopping $2.50 for eight, regardless of title, from TPE). Then, at the Strand theater on Market, (the Strand was one of those 3 features for a buck places), I saw a display of lobbies on a board out front. Standing out in all its garish green glory was this 11 X 14" beauty from TEENAGE ZOMBIES. I was smitten by the completely unreal coloration and the whole concept of someone tinting photos from a black & white piece of crap movie. I ordered a set of cards from 13 GHOSTS the next Monday along with a one sheet from MACABRE and, bang! the hook was set for life. Cut to about fifteen years ago. I had a new guitar student who came in and saw the posters in my teaching studio. "My girl friend's late husband was a guy named Jerry Warren", he said, "and he made stuff like....this." "You mean the guy who did TEENAGE ZOMBIES and TERROR OF THE BLOODHUNTERS?", I replied. He was incredulous that I knew of Jerry's work, and I made arrangements to interview his girlfriend Gloria Warren, Jerry's widow and assistant on most of his films. The interview got me in the door at Filmfax magazine, where I became a regular contributor for many years. Thanks to Mike Stein and Filmfax/Outre, I got to hang one-on-one with Edie Adams, Dolores Fuller, The Ventures, Dick Dale, Rick Wakeman...it was a great run (I ran out of time, but recently spoke with Mr. Stein about resuming my writing career...) Gloria Warren remains a good friend of ours. Nice, bright person who finally admitted to me that Jerry might NOT be Orson Welles and his filmic body of work might not be on a par with, say, Stanley Kubrick. And, yes, I'm pretty sure I still have this card...otherwise, I'll be in touch, Kirby!
