We at eMoviePoster.com regularly receive consignments from collectors who
have decided they simply have "too much", and they go through their entire
collection, culling out those items they don't want. The only downside to
doing this is that what *YOU *don't want will probably prove to not be all
that desirable to other collectors!

On the other hand, what are your alternatives? Dealers don't want to buy
groups like these, unless it for pennies on the dollar, and you *CAN *offer
these items one by one (either on eBay or on forums like these), but you
will likely not sell very much, and then of course you will have to deal
with taking pictures, writing descriptions, mailing them, etc.

Is it worth your while to send the low-priced items in your collection that
you don't want all to us? Absolutely! You will turn them all into cash, and
while you likely won't get as much as you would like for them, you will do *FAR
*better than if you had any other type of collectible, like comic books,
baseball cards, etc, where low-priced items are almost unsellable.

One collector who sent us several hundred pretty low-value posters posted
about the results of his consigning experience on a forum, and with his
permission, we are re-posting it here, so *YOU *can get a sense of what it
is like to consign pretty low-value items, and see it will be right for you.

*Here is what he wrote:*

"I have been selling many posters by consigning through eMoviePoster.com. I
thought I'd share some experiences here. First, some background: I am
moving, and when I packed to put my collection in storage, I decided to
cull some posters to sell. I ended up with around 300 (I don't actually
have an exact count). This was not my best material for the most part, and
included quite a few that I received free in lots, or where I was not happy
with the condition, or where I was simply not interested anymore, etc.

My collection has a lot of low-budget horror and sleaze from the 60's and
70's, and is quite international, including posters from US, Germany,
Japan, Sweden, Italy, Mexico etc. A lot of it is for virtually unknown
films where the art is better than the movie, and thus it is hard to put a
proper value on much of it. My reasoning was that with consigning a large
number, I would still make out OK. Even with an average selling price of
$10 and a 50% commission, I should be getting about $1500. Now the first
numbers are in and it seems I am actually doing better than that!

Some general remarks on consigning with eMoviePoster.com: I sent my stuff
(two tubes and a very large box) with U.S. mail, and two of the shipments
arrived soon; the third took another two weeks for some reason. The first
items were up for auction two weeks after they arrived. Since then, there
has been a steady stream of items auctioned, 217 so far. In my opinion,
this is very fast work, and I don't really see how anyone could have sold
my items faster.

Also, eMoviePoster.com's listings and descriptions *ROCK*! A lot of the
stuff I sent was very obscure, and from many different countries. The folks
at eMoviePoster.com were able to bring incredible detail and
enthusiasm to *EVERY
*listing, and often contributed information that I myself had no idea
about. Of course much of this comes from them auctioning so many posters
and having most of the info "on tap" from previous sales, but still, I was
very impressed and could not have done nearly as good a job myself.

Finally, the results. I just received the proceeds from the first month of
auctioning. I sold 120 posters averaging $17.16 per poster, for a total of
$2060. My payment from eMoviePoster.com was $1044.30, making for a
comission of 49% and an average take of $8.70 per poster. I am quite happy
with these results and although the comission for lower-value items is
indeed high, I think I made out OK all things considered

It should also be said that this first month contained quite a few of my
lesser items; in fact I am amazed that all of them actually sold! [image:
Grin] The average sale price for the second month is higher at $23 and
included a few that sold for 200 or more. Thus I am hoping I will get a
slightly better rate for the second month. My overall average sale price so
far is $19.22, which I hope is close enough to the $20 or so that they want
to see from consignors!

Overall, I highly recommend selling through eMoviePoster.com. Every
collection is different and your mileage may vary, but for my very eclectic
selection, I think eMoviePoster.com did a stellar job and realized as close
as can be hoped for to the best possible prices. I would definitely not
have been able to put in the work and do this myself."

*We thank this collector very much for taking the time to write this all
out!* If *YOU *are a collector who has more "stuff" than you know what to
do with, but has not wanted to see it for pennies on the dollar (or take on
a second job selling it yourself one at a time) then we hope you will
consider sending it to us!

But first read all our consignment terms at

can be sending us some or all of your unwanted items, and you can be on
your way towards getting back monthly checks (and an uncluttered house!).
