* For the rest, Bruce posted an update in his e-mail club today about
the recovery of 5 of 10 linen-backed posters stolen earlier this year
from a collector in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, the pricier ones are
still at large, but the good news is this is yet another illustration
of how - over the years - the hobby's membership has worked together
to identify and eradicate the Ebola-like carriers/scammers - LARGE AND
SMALL - out. -d.

UPDATE: STOLEN FRAMED MOVIE POSTERS (MOSTLY VALUABLE LINEN-BACKED
ONE-SHEETS) REPORT
In CLUB MESSAGE 709 [1], we reported on a stolen group of valuable
framed movie posters in Los Angeles. This week, we received a message
from the collector who reports:

"I thought I would update you as there has been an important
development. Six posters from the stolen group did emerge last week
when they were offered to a local gallery owner. She recognized them
immediately and alerted me, at which time I notified the LAPD. The
detective had no interest in trying to get to the bottom of it, so
thankfully the gallery owner worked it out where the posters were
returned to me, and I did pay a reward to the person who brought
them to her, as they were clearly not involved in their theft.

The posters recovered are: Our Blushing Brides, City Streets, Dance
Team, Big Executive, Derelict. All one sheets, and I am very happy
to have them back in the collection.

THE MISSING ONE SHEETS REMAIN:
Devil Is Driving one-sheet
Riding For Justice one-sheet
Notorious French 23x33
Shall We Dance one-sheet
Pioneer Scout one-sheet

So, sadly the pricier posters are still out there somewhere, but it
is quite possible the thieves will try to sell those as well very
soon. Thanks for spreading the word!"
 Here is our original report:

We recently received this very sad news from a long time major
collector who lives in the Los Angeles area:

"I had a whole bunch of framed posters (almost all one-sheets, and
all linenbacked and framed) stolen when I moved into a new house.
I'll list them here just in case someone offers them to you, or
anyone in your e-mail club.

Title and size:
Devil Is Driving one-sheet
Big Executive one-sheet
Derelict one-sheet
Riding For Justice one-sheet
Notorious French 23x33
Shall We Dance one-sheet
Our Blushing Brides one-sheet
Dance Team one-sheet
Pioneer Scout one-sheet
City Streets one-sheet"

REPLY FROM BRUCE: That is really sad about the robbery. It is awful
there are such low people in the world. I will definitely keep on
the lookout for these posters. Now that the list of them has run
here in the e-mail club, many thousands of collectors are aware of
what the titles are, and that make it much harder for the crooks to
sell them.
URGENT: IF ANYONE READING THIS HAS EVEN THE SLIGHTEST CLUE AS TO
WHO STOLE THESE (OR IF ANYONE OFFERS YOU VALUABLE FRAMED LINENBACKED
POSTERS), PLEASE REPORT IT, AND YOU MAY BE IN LINE FOR A SUBSTANTIAL
REWARD.
