The greatest Australia Day Auction ever held is over, and I believe I can say I good success.

A number of notables:

 * I understand the final hammer price for The Wizard of Oz was highest
achieved in this country in public auction (movie poster).
 * The quality, the variety and the rarity of many of the titles shows
that there is still a lot of posters around we have yet to see.
 * We saw a lot of 'new' buyers bid, that is people who we do not
   recognise as regular buyers/collectors elsewhere.
 * Consigning virtually to a specialist poster auction site does work,
there is no cost is postage getting it to us, there is no cost to
list the item and no charge if it doesn't sell either.
 * We returned more profit dollars to our sellers than anywhere else
due to our low commission, which is a 6%, flat rate, even on the low
value items, it's the same rate for high priced items and a $2000
sale is a $2000 sale anywhere and 6% commission puts even more
   dollars in your pocket!
 * Everything that was accepted for consignment for this auction was
listed - there's was no waiting!
 * Some items were paid for by the buyers within 5 minutes of their
winning bid! Instant payment is a good thing sellers!
 * As an auction house we operate on an honesty system for commissions,
we don't deduct our fees from your sale, we bill you separately!

As a bonus I note that a number of our sellers who were NOT in the Australia Day auction but did have movie posters in the standard section of Bidll sold some posters as well, obviously because all our visitors browsed through all items on the site. Makes sense really, after-all it's free to place a standard listing on Bidll so what a great way to be in front of a captive and already interested potential client.

Finally, I've had quite a few questions about when is the next one (not just from hopefully our sellers, but buyers too) it's a good question and if you are a registered member of Bidll we'll let you know - very very soon...sign up today <http://bidll.com/Account/Register>
