Store.
I was entrusted with the sale of the impressive Hollywood memorabilia
collection of the late Al Morely. Al had two stores in Hollywood for years,
became close friends with many Hollywood stars from Ann Rutherford to Lana
Turner but retired and packed up all his memorabilia into storage where it
rested since the late 1980's. There are thousands of items, so due to the
overwhelming nature of the collection I assigned Al's collection to Ira & Larry
Goldberg Auctioneers and the auction of these items begins today at 10am
Pacific Time.
There are some incredibly rare items ranging from gorgeous original Hurrell,
Clarence Sinclair Bull portraits & rare, stunningly beautiful vintage Carbro
print photographs, to items signed by everyone from Chaplin, De Mille, Von
Sternberg & Griffith, Rudolph Valentino, Shirley Temple, Jean Harlow, Brando,
Clift, Elizabeth Taylor, Judy Garland, Clark Gable, Paul Newman, Mae West,
William Powell & Myrna Loy, John Wayne, Joan Crawford, Bette Davis, Fred
Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Frank Sinatra, Gary Cooper, Marlene Dietrich, as well
as a GONE WITH THE WIND lot, a WIZARD OF OZ lot, as well as hand-written
correspondence from Audrey Hepburn and Olivia De Havilland & Katharine Hepburn,
and the list goes on and on. It's a veritable who's who of autographs,
signed/inscribed photos & contracts from the Golden Age of Hollywood
There are some terrific deals to be had here whether for personal collecting or
for resale as many of these lots have very low opening bids.
