I listened to this yesterday. I started collecting around the same time, 1963,
and I remember those prices...! I got a list from L.A. of all original
Universal material around 1965. We're talking The Good Stuff. They were priced
$20-75, which was outrageous at the time. I still remember asking my dad for an
advance on my allowance so I could get something from "Bride of Frankenstein".
"If it was for something sensible like stamps, I'd consider...but you'd just be
wasting your money on this crap."
Oh well. I probably would have purchased the poster and thumb-tacked it to my
wall.
The interview is highly recommended. I have had nothing but great dealings with
Mr. Borst and his lovely missus. His collection is unthinkably deep....Bela
Lugosi's Social Security card?
