It is easier to sell something stolen like this than one might think. When my
posters were stolen several years back, they were given as collateral for a
loan to a collector than is very much involved in our hobby. I mean nobody
leaves over $30,000 worth of posters with someone for a $2500 loan and never
comes back. Not to mention, that my search for the posters was extremely vocal
on all the forums, etc. Even with that, the collector began to sell them and I
would not have known anything without a framing customer of mine framing a
poster from the stolen batch that he bought from that collector on ebay. I
knew it was mine because it was a rare style from a film and it had been
trimmed 1" at the top.

The person who stole my posters had done it before with a collector who filed
a lawsuit out of Sacramento. Those posters were of extreme rarity and value
and they were sold for next to nothing to dealers and collectors all over the
country and no one said a word. Many times posters of great value are sold to
collectors who never question where they came from. The same guy who stole my
posters approached me several times trying to sell posters to me that he said
were his, but the price was so low and he had a reputation for shenanigans in
our hobby, and I declined. None of them were particularly rare or expensive
items, but still he priced them very far below what they were typically going
for at the time.

Now, the Cabin in the Sky 6 sheet is very rare, but I'm sure there is a buyer
somewhere who, unfortunately, is willing to get a deal and keep his mouth
shut.
