While many are aware of Carla Laemmle's recent passing and her connection with early Universal horror films, someone from that same era at the beginning of horror talkies has been living amongst us until only a few days ago.
Lupita Tovar who starred as Mina in Universal's 1931 Spanish language Dracula has died at the grand age of 106. Her daughter Susan Kohner was an actress as well (Imitation of Life) and two of her grandsons, Chris and Paul Weitz continue in the film biz as Director/Producers.
