Hello MOPOers! Let me re-introduce myself. My name is Mel. I randomly walked into a movie poster store in Denver in March 2009 and immediately became obsessed with the MP hobby. Over the next five years, I spent most of my discretionary legal income on movie posters & prints (1900+), MP frames (80+) from Hollywood Poster Frames and Spotlight Displays, linen-backing, and internet hosting fees for my two websites www.posternirvana.com <https://web.archive.org/web/20140210142443/http://posternirvana.com/Main/Home.html> (personal collection) and www.moviepostercollectors.com (MP educational site), which I've rebuilt now as www.moviepostercollectors.guide, which I'll describe/promote in a future post.
Here are 779 pics of my MP craziness in DC from 2009-2014 (you'll have to login to Facebook): https://www.facebook.com/pg/MoviePosterCollectors/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1936000636683870 Meanwhile, I posted 7,000+ times on MPF and APF <http://www.allposterforum.com> as Dread_Pirate_Mel, generally enjoying myself, occasionally annoying other members, and personally meeting several APF members. I also occasionally posted on MOPO. I even created/posted a video authentication for Star Wars C 1S: http://moviepostercollectors.guide/Storage/Distinguishing.mp4 I finally burned out on the hobby in 2014, stopped posting, consigned most of my collection to EMP (thank you EMP, saved me countless hours selling myself), and gave away most of my frames. After a three year break from the hobby, last month my interest in the hobby suddenly rekindled. Here are pics of my new MP frames: https://www.facebook.com/pg/MoviePosterCollectors/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1938634233087177 Here are images of my 70 MP posters and prints in Collection 2.0: https://www.facebook.com/pg/MoviePosterCollectors/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1936565426627391 My favorites are one sheets from Sullivan's Travels (who can resist Veronica Lake <http://moviepostercollectors.guide/MPC_Showcase_Veronica_Lake.html>?) and Breakfast at Tiffany's. Look forward to contributing again to MOPO!
