Tommy awesome reply- thank You so much !!.. ive been ill for ages and since 2011,, ive sold to dealers and a few retail cutomers but ive beenhealing.. my ebay ad i juts posted ha all kinda og view bu no buyres..i listed at 9-- . then dropped to 725 and now 425 just because i love to sell bulk lots..but either no ones spendng or since its 3 huge boxes they are spooked by the quanity. also I could only show 12 pics .. had 20 so im considering doing it by the pice and that way its more affordable andeasy to pack..

I myself liketo buy entire colections..so when i walk in the guys home..ill take the 3d stuff, pops, books, stills posters and films and everything in one swoop.. ive told guys to Go to Bruce, and amazin and ebay but they want it Gone like me.. and so ive got deals over the years by collectors simply saying help me rid myself of this addiction.. which i feel is a public crusade...in my case i dont want my son to get stuck with my estate and have to deal with all the crazy collectors..I love nothing better then to see someone with passion get it that simply LOves movies.

when the old collector gavae me the deal on his entire collection recently i could tell he felt he was passing the torch.. and knew i would try to find a new good home whether in a archive or a newbie.. and thats what im doing..as sure i lke to eat and pay my bills... but ive never been known to just want to get the biggest amount out of the materials. as its more fun to see people face happy or geta nice letter how it makes them feel better...

thats why ive always been against investment only... I sold a Jaws british quad on ebay a few chritsmas ago..I got 315.00 and Jerry Ohlinger had one for 900.00
I was happy to get 315 and the customer was a dealer..so he was too

at the same time I grouped all the Rocky movie in one lot and only gota bid of 61.00 for all!!! but the guy was very happy as i honored his bid and my costly mistake,,,, Ive let countless poster get away because i think no one will let this get away..well they do.. so the good part is you can get deals on ebay whenguys like me flub up..LOL:)

alsogood luck on your Fargo I think isaw it in my lot of folded as i was loking the otherday..i have some great titles andwill be listing so hope everyone bookmarks mr dream factory seller id on ebay as i plan to sell them as cost efective as i can and am open to offers.....except when i was offered 3.00 each on Disney posters i pulled.. I would have gladdley sold them at like30-40 each on title like Nightmare before christmas andlitlle mermains Rolled and snow white 50th but I wanted to MOve the lot in a big swoop... my Buyer was not aware st what the titles sell for andI was surprised ..a i had 60s and 70s like Napoleon and samantha- now you see him now you dont... Flubber/absent minded professor..and many more But I look at adversity as my breakfast cereal..most my life has been about overcomng adversitys..

Jerry wintraub..who was one of myfave movie people as he promoted sintar, elvis anddid PH GOD withDenver and burns and managed Denver..anddiallthe oceans films...siad it best at the end of his life... he said the money, fame and all go away but what saved him whenhe lost a huge investment into a movie studio, was when he remembered his family and friends and god...

same with Arnold Schwarzenneger my daily pump up the vibes guy who in 2007 gave me my 1st big gig after my divorce...see anyone thats ever had any busines has also had down times.

I tell my son dont collect to make money..collect to save Film history for others, and enjoy the memories it brings.. the rest is all conceptand can change

I hop I can still hang around and sell you folks some goodies as its fun when we have great transactions.. I recently sld a big collector a starchild 2001 s0x 24 I got years ago when i purchased a 16mm scope print of Kubricks film.. the guy told me the posterwas used in Colleges.. but i neversaw it and it looked funny like maybe a reprint was black and whirte.andFolded...
so whethe guy said ill take it ,,,I sad 75.00 postapaid to Los angeles..

I was so afraid itwas nota original i gave him back his money by paypal.....s he sadi Noooo i want it..he said i can tell how UA and mgm did the art its is from the 72-74 re-realesse and ive neverseen one.. we bothsearched and no one had anyever listed.. so

fact is i loved it if its original and only one as is a much better reward to me to help guys find cool things then to get big bux only..maybe because i also like to dream and when i see all the people in entertainment most came from humble starts so they are like me. not like aristocrats...

Bruce Hershenson told me you just get back in the saddle again when the horse throws you off and its true/I just am getting tired of thesaddel sores..LOL:)but give thanks i even get up in the am

Thanks Tommy .. thatwas some great overview of the climate of Movie Posters and wilhelp me greatly..

I buy few posters from the 90s.on .. maybe Jurrassic park but i miss the poster painters asthey to me where what made the artform great...and the photoshop and the content of newer films has beennot mycup o tea.. must be im 60 now...but theres so much out there from past thats cool and still like to see them..which with my eye issues has been a real challenge..
I hope you will al watch for my ads on ebay and all..

kindest regards, Tom

Hi Tom,

I keep a spreadsheet where I record current auction values but then
use eBay and dealer websites to see what the retail prices are like.
As in most areas of collecting while any item is normally within a
particular price band there can be wide variations so, for example,
while I have a Fargo one sheet on offer on eBay.co.uk [2] for £159
(little bit of advertising - reeldealpostersuk) others have it on
websites for double that. I don't know if there is any great increase
in avid collectors, but there does seem to be a reasonable interest in
those wanting to possess a poster for wall decoration or simply
because the film had a particular meaning, and I think that applies to
all age groups. It does appear to me that the number and quality of
posters in the main auctions has decreased in recent months, and the
middle range posters like Jaws or Star Wars one sheets have increased
in value. I suppose that, given there are a limited number of
originals, less are now available for sale - supply and demand is as
applicable to posters as any other commodity.
I am aware of only 2 bricks and mortar shops in UK, both in London
where they can command much higher prices than I would be willing to
pay, but then there are obviously people there who have no problem
with that. I started with my own website and did a little bit of
business but when I moved to an eBay shop that increased greatly, and
while it will never make me rich (it is as much a retirement hobby as
a business) it provides a little extra income. Like it or not, it
seems that eBay is the place for retailing posters.
As to the future - anybody's guess. Will studios continue to produce
paper posters or will they simply transmit them digitally? Will there
remain any interest in movies and stars from previous generations? I
hope there will as young people discover that movies are more than the
latest blockbuster, and that as an art form as well as entertainment
it is worth revisiting the past. They will be missing out on an awful
lot otherwise.
