so I had a funny thought as ive read s many stories on Moop of stolemn
art, forgeries, and movie posters ..
then i thought..who really owned it inthe 1st place? it says not to be
sold or given away andproperty of NSS so wouldnt that make anyone who
owns material owneres of illegal material?
just a thought and a funny as the storys behind all this stuff outweigh
the facts.. when i started 40 years ago the banks laughed at me ,art
gallerys and othes as it was considered trash.. only wierdos saved comic
books and basebla cards and nerdy kids... soit wasnt about value.. it
was about pasion.. thenwhe POrtal publications or Ocorte madera calif
did repos...i bought them to decorate my booking agency..the early ones
where done onFalt paper stock and so many people thought they where
originals as Portal put the dates of the film release...they are still
in Busines but do didhgiatl onsies prnts of archives of Images as i cut
a deal fora artist to have his art done by them for FORD motor company
in detroit..
Veto stausinatis told me when he started selling films in 60s they didnt
even have any film collector papers so he advertised in the back of
popular photography magazine..so its been kinda cool how the collector
industry morphed..and went Big business from being corner drug store
kids iems..i mean they had spinner wire racks in 60s i had one in my
shop...condition was not as key as now where they put the books in
sleeeves and all that.. we had a rubber band and cigar box and thats was
it postetrs where kept in a box..and most this stuff was onshelves ina
basement or attic... I found a slew of sat evening posts used as attic
insulation that where like mint..sone guy sold me some great lobbie
cards that where floor shim levelere and was a whole set of nelson eddy
Phantom of the opera..!!a nd some FLynn movies..so those storys of stuff
in walls and ceiling sare true as i found them myself..
anyways a few thoughts about my sales... 1st i thought who inspred me
inthis Biz.. well Mel blance wheni was trying to get a record deal said
Find a niche.....and he was a man who had so much rejection wb didntwant
to hire him until the man in HR dropped dead...!! then adam west had the
sam issues with WB they didntwant t have hinm as batman andhe got so
depressed they shothim from a cannon at a car show!!! my friend was his
boddygiuard and wa there... Adam was a trooper and just kept on Going
dispite the setbacks andtypcasting... the arnold swarzenneger who has
suffered from early childhood of poverty..to people laughing at his
speeech, name and all that..well he turned it intoa trademark as
Stallone did to and sa Jimmy Durante did..they all used thier faults as
steps instead of giving up..
so thats what has been my fuel and all the spirits of old Hollywood and
people like Debbie reynod and all the pioneers that basically found ways
to seel Movies lie Dw Geriffithm Frank Capra.. stanley Ktamer,,
Spielberg, Lucas, Scorses... Copplla.. Cormon..on and on... its all that
same spiritt..Lucy had it,,I se the same things ,,struggle, adversarial
and finding ways to cope.so ill be selling a few items on here if i can
list lke a 24 hour sale early bird specail and ill do ebaty... anther
thing i dont se fellow dealers as compition but as allies of ths biz so
i want everyone to get sale and win and send many to you people as
sources..some guy just asked for awards and i said go to Joe madellena
at profiles as they get that stuff and hes doing a sale for Todd Fisher
soon...but please keep watch ing my autons on ebay as ill be offering
deals there a Jaws and a airport up now and a hershenson Horror poser
book.... all marked down...also i just gota nice feedback tat reminded
me where Ron Borsta sai the terror poster was the best he got so he gave
the poster to Forry AAcjerman before he passd away...it was a window
card from The terror -1928 1st sound horror film ever..he has one in his
book- Graven Images...I packed it between masinite hardboard andwrapped
in foam and buble and it was sturdy..
so hope you will stop buty and get some goodies from The Dream Factory™
Hollywood Dream Factory® since 1977
