Memorable seeing Ed Wood for the first time in a movie theater. Middle of the afternoon, only about 10 or 12 of us there, probably had all been Famous Monsters of Filmland readers. Laughed at the same places and applauded after the "Home, I have no home." monologue.
Aware that the Bela portrayed in the film was not the real Lugosi but I do not think it was meant to be. Maybe supposed to be Bela through Ed Wood's eyes with the vision of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. Anyway, I loved it, and loved Martin Landau. So heroic that he tried to mention Lugosi in his Oscar acceptance speech but was cut off. Never saw a Landau performance that wasn't memorable, fascinating, inspiring and interesting to me. Such a loss. Nathalie On Wed, Jul 19, 2017 at 1:58 AM, Toochis Morin <[email protected]> wrote: > Yes. He was amazing.
