* Thank you, Scott! With the exception of the Gilda style B and maybe my near
mint 1S to It's A Wonderful Life - I've never owned a five- or six- or
seven-figure valued poster, hence my terminology, "mid-tiered collection."
I've always wanted to own a "Frankenstein" or a "Bride of Frankenstein" 1S -
but it was never gonna be in the cards for me. I AFFECTIONATELY refer to the
blue-bloods of the hobby as the "monster poster mafia," e.g., the DeLucas,
Fishlers, Feiertags, Taylors, Borsts, et. al. - with whom I'm forever jealous -
but with whom I'm also grateful for sharing their knowledge and what they
themselves have owned over the past several decades.

* For me, collecting posters meant chasing titles to movies that I LOVE, hence
what I owned could not be pigeon-holed into specific genres. Whether it was
Bogart, Hitchcock, Garbo or film noir titles - or even newer titles - the only
requirement I had was I had to LOVE the movie itself. If the movie was so-so -
I would pass on a poster even if the art was universally regarded as being "out
of this world." The only exceptions I made to "my rule" - were posters to
movies featuring pin-up babes like Raquel Welch or Fonda in Barbarella.

* There are some newer titles besides "Goodfellas" that are appreciating upward
as time passes - with perhaps the biggest surprise to me - being the Scarlett
Johansson image on the double-sided one-sheet to "Lost in Translation." It's a
film that people either love or hate. About two years ago, I had a
double-sided 4 x 6 foot vinyl BANNER from this movie - that I sent off to Bruce
H. for consignment, not thinking much of it. Imagine my surprise when it
fetched more than $1K! This for a film that was released in 2003!

* At any rate - thank you all for your notes, public and private - to my
musings from last night! Best, David near San Diego.

Expensive horror paper be damned…yours was no “mid-tiered” collection…..quite a
stunner, David!

Thanks for sharing the photos.
