Six months ago, after 29 years as a full-time auctioneer (having run 1.6 *MILLION *eMoviePoster.com auctions, with $94 million in total sales), I made the decision to start "slowing down"! Step one was to cut my Sunday auctions in half, running 500 or so for the last six months, which meant we would "lose" around $250,000 in sales as a result.
At that time I *THOUGHT *this meant we therefore would have *NO *chance of breaking our all-time yearly record of $5,596,923.00 set two years ago, and almost matched last year, and in fact, a few weeks ago, it looked like we would just barely break $5 million (but certainly not shabby, especially with those $250,000 in lower sales because of fewer auctions). But I did not know at that time that our 2,500+ consignors would give us our greatest December Major Auction in many years, and it wrapped up yesterday with $916,750 in total sales, bringing our 2019 sales to $5,540,261.00, and guaranteeing we WILL set a new yearly sales record (since we have two weeks to go)! Our deepest thanks to those 2,500 consignors, and of course also to our just-under 50,000 past buyers, and our 25 employees, all of whom come together week after week, to make this magic happen!
