For almost 20 years (and almost 1,000 nearly consecutive Tuesdays), I have
been e-mailing or posting to memorabilia collectors every Tuesday to tell
them about our auctions closing that day. But NOW, with our BI-WEEKLY auctions,
we have NO auctions closing today, and even though that has been true for 6
months now, I STILL wake up on Tuesdays thinking "Today is auction day",
but that is now true only every OTHER Tuesday (and that might be true for
some of you very longtime buyers)!
However, we DO have our current three sets of auctions (containing 3,820
auctions in all!) that close NEXT Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday (August
4th, 6th, and 9th, because they are bi-weekly auctions!). These auctions
contain so many varied items that at least some of them are likely to be of
great interest to almost all collectors! What's in these three sets of
auctions?
1,520 programs, program books, and magazines end Tuesday, August 6th at
http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/13.html 1,100 pressbooks, comic books,
sheet music and much more end Thursday, August 8th at
http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/14.html 283 non-U.S. posters from 19
countries AND 495 "special" rolled posters AND 422 rolled one-sheets end
Sunday, August 9th at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/15.html Or (for
the next 8 full days, until the Tuesday auctions start to close on the
23rd) view ALL of the 3,820 current auctions in a single gallery at
http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/all.html, which is especially valuable
if you want to search ALL of the current 3,820 auctions at once for a star,
genre, size or whatever! It is virtually a certainty that no matter what
you collect you will find items of interest in this massive supermarket
selection, and not only that, but we add a similar selection every other
week, and you can wait TWELVE full weeks to have your purchases shipped,
which saves you a fortune on combined shipping.
Note that the first two of these current sets of auctions do NOT contain
any posters! That is because a MAJOR part of the reason for switching from
weekly auctions to bi-weekly ones was to finally get a chance to get
COMPLETELY caught up on all items consigned to us but not yet auctioned.
The first thing we did was to work on all standard sizes (one-sheets, lobby
cards, other U.S. sizes, non-U.S. posters, etc) and we ARE now almost
completely caught up with all of those that have been consigned.
NOW we are working away at "non-standard" items, like program books,
magazines, comic books, sheet music, etc, and that is why you see such
great selections of those in our current Tuesday and Thursday auctions,
because they represent most of those items we had here!
Once we get through most of the "non-standard" items, we will then work on
the large numbers of low value stills we have been consigned. These are way
the hardest to do, because often consignors send us thousands at once, and
repros are mixed in with originals, and they are NOT sorted by title! So
most of those end in bulk lots, which are time-consuming to make and yield
little money, but we won't rest until ALL previously consigned items have
been auctioned.
That will let us get to where we want to be, which is that all consignments
are prepared for auctioned as soon as they arrive here! That is already
true for consignments that only contain $20+ items, but we want to get
where we can do that with every consignment!
