Sorry, Helmut, but while I may not agree with Filip's choice of language I certainly agree with its sentiments. Confiscating lunch sandwiches from lorry drivers entering Europe because they contain ham? Both sides need to be more grown-up and sort out the mess that Brexit has caused, but Brussels is definitely in a huff because Britain dared to leave their club, and behaving accordingly. The European Union loves bureaucracy, and NI is an example of how, in spite of common sense dictating that it is not all necessary, they insist on its enforcement regardless of the consequences. So actually the EU left Britain, not the other way round, and then the EU bureaucrats single-handedly created a set of regulations which they are now ruthlessly enforcing on the poor Brits. And maybe the moon is made of cheese after all. Who would know, as nobody has ever been there. Helmut Gesendet: Freitag, 12. If any MoPo members from the UK voted for the Brexit: A WARM-HEARTED thank you from Berlin! What a darn mess you got us all in. Not only has shipping to the UK become a ridiculous nightmare: UPS Express used to deliver the next day, when Corona hit, they took an extra day, thanks to the Brexit, my last package took 12 days for delivery, owed to 'Brexit delays'. And it's safe to assume that we have not seen the of this downward spiral for a long time. Even worse: That Brexit sh*t is now affecting my DHL Express imports from the US. The normal runtime from the US to Germany used to be two days, and more often than not, my packages would clear customs before they even landed in Germany. I have a shipment sitting at Leipzig Airport right now, and I just learne, that DHL currently takes two to six weeks to file a customs import declaration, thanks to the Brexit. Like everybody else, DHL has been hit by the pandemic, but they could manage that quite well. Now, they are wasting countless hours with filing tons and tons of apparently highly complicated import declarations for packages from the UK.
