hello Folks
a salute to all MOMs and future moms
my. mom was from Bermuda and desired to be a engineer
Phyllis instead became a office secretary For Theodore Reeves
advertising
she worked storer Broadcasting nbc tv and theta her 40 50 was given PINK
slip and then went to General Mills in the lab in quality control and
retired she adapted to much adversity
when she met my dad in 1956 she was a Arthur Murray dance teacher
dad a university students told to get lessons to stay out of Fights
as he was a set Us marine corps and loved to brawl as many New York
Sicilians were known to do
I think he thought he was Brando ;;;LOLanyway she taught him dance the
salsa..mamoand Bone dance
and aug 56 I was born
he split and married a airline stewardess
had 3 kids one they name Tom as dad was named Tom
but mom and nana raised me...she didn't Geta abortion..or give me away
she bore the ridicule of a unwed mom at 29
and never got assistance
this woman was a trooper and studies all kinds religions,,faiths and
eastern philosophy was a true feminist
she had my brother in 63 and got married then divorced///and became a
christian at end of her life...learned to drive at age 50...
and loved my sonny brothers kids as a grandma
she inspired her church whence was in hospice and kept her faith till
last breath...
she said sam good with dying, just dontlipe the transportation
she was a great mom..she would carry grocerceries home off the Bus she
took to work as in the 60s 70s she didn't drive
she was a person who live frugal and not material...she had compassion
and empathy foray races..
when was like 16 she bought a new Gibson guitar, amplifierandpaid like
700.00 even though she only made like 125 a week back then
mom sacriiced for her boys...
I saw many moms had help from husbands but mom kept trying
we moved a lot to apps as she always wanted a clean home for us...somy
brothers inched care..andi became latch key kid
but she was a honest woman who love others
and between her and nana my grand mother they gave me the basics like
treat other fair. forgive.help others
Nana was like a mom as mom worked all the time so didn't see her
much..both great women and I miss them.
my brother has still not recovered from the trauma when mom passed
he held one hand me the other in the hospice whence took last breath
what joy it was to have a mother like that
thats why I understand all of your losses when you lose a mom
as the love can never be measured in earthly terms
If your mom is alive....tell her how important she is...
if she passed..just celebrate her...and remember the memories
I believe we will see all family again in future as christ promises and
evenPETS too
all the best Folks
Tom
