comic book show in Livonia michand he was there..wheni heard Warner bros
did not pan on using him I had window cards made saying BRING BACK ADAM
WEST AS BATMAN
the 2 creators of Tennage mutant ninja turtles were there also... Kevvin
Eastman and Peter laird
I brought movie magazines to sell... and guess what I did very
poorly..as moswere interested in COMICS them
It was 1985
But Adam said great yes you can help
and brought him Toledo fora inpersonm signing and we did great..I was
able to Get gossip columnist LIZ smith to do a article on her New York
show
amd Lou Valentino a customer. author who was art editor at Life and
people magazine did a story on Adam..
but Warner bros and DC comics did not want Adam
But we tyriedand I was so thrilled he trusted me to do it
He said " toms ideas sound crazy but they work.." when sold his book
back to the bat cave..we sold it for 29.95 signed..andu advertised into
shop. movie collectors world and many more//but had slow sales...
so one Day Adam called I said Adam I don't feel worthy to sell your
bio//inwhich he replied..: tom what you need know is we all just guess
mo one really knows anything!!
myex wife said -HE wont give up he keeps advertising!!in which Adam said
-tell her you are exercising!!!
and it was true//I just figured I need to refine my ads I need up doing
full page colored in a toy shoppe publication and we sold more// but we
would get the books send toAdam in Idaho..and he would send back and
would rap them and Ship to the customers.
the Man was honest and i rememberwhani was 10 in 1966 watching Batman
and monkeys Onto..Julie Newmar was my 1st woman thoughts a sexy
bombshell..

I saw he did a spot for heritage auction..he was very professional
another funny story was we took him the olive Garden inToledo..when we
went in the girls the door said how many..we had mysone Tommyand so I
said to the girl..heywe have Adam west with could you get us a seat
asap???
she replies WHO is Adam west??? I go over and say they will get us a
seat soon as I thought nobody remembers him......
she wentinthe kitchen and must have told theaters..soon I hear pans
dropping..and a ruckus///andthe whole staff it seemed cane out..as they
wanted autographs...//I was so relieved...but then the patrons also came
around our table...so it was a funny experience..
then took him downtown to show him my city we had a old mansion that a
friend owned it liooked like Wayne manor..so we pulp my friend was in
the front I said I have a friend could we getthetour???he said we just
closed so we didn't go in..wheni told him later he was upsets I didn't
say we have Adam west in the car...
when we did the elder beermat mall appearance they also had one of the
bat mobiles..
and the Simon Mal guy said it was the best attended show he ever had
io got him gig in Indianapolis 500 comic show sotheplane to Toledo was
only like200/00and so he got 2 gigs back to back..
he forgot his stills so we had to get kinky copiesofthestills and had
some reprints of the UK quad he signed..aat the end of the show..he gave
us halftone sales oftheposters and still.. I heard Tom Parker did the
same of Elvis to Jerry Weintraub....whenhepromoted Elvis shows..split
down the middle
My lesson was the honest people in show biz do therightthingand Adam was
humble and one of them Like the other guy that mentored me//Mel
Blanc.... and also Arnold Schwarzenneger
when made customers clapperboards for him while he was
governor..afterthe job in 2007 I Geta package in the mail...he gave the
cal[[erboards to alltheusa governors....andhe took 8x10 color photo at
the podium with the clapper we made and he Signed it in a social;

sample with a mean letter saying cease and desist..like I infringed..one
I didn't and why would yo send me back the sample?? I think she was just
sensitive as people always charged her more I guess..but i was just a
small dealer that when you screen print a 100 is just getting warmed
up// so,, I think she just didnt understand..
so we can miss the boat over silly misunderstandings I heard later a
companyinfrance would no-show het a purse and it upset her so my guess
is she feels people abuse her as she so famous..but that was not thecae

another one I lost was sci-fi-fi channel they wanted Ray GUNS withe
theology
I had to buy squirt gums and modify them and I asked they prepay the
order..itwas like 3k///I said have no use for Ray guns and this is
custom printed for just you..
the woman said ok..and then sent a 1'2 oftheordercheck...I said no I
need prepay as I told you its a oneofa kind order..
so she say old cancel my order..
I was relieved as many years in the biz showed me many don't honor the
deals andwhenyou are small they just don't care..
when sold to music land we would get 30K orders and they had 600
stores//but when times got tuff they would notepad..when 3 or 4 30k
orders are notepad but you need partisan payroll for employees//it can
be a issues//btw Disney always payed me..
so a buyer music land said Tom most vendors are cutting them off for
copayments
I wrote a letter to the ceoand said justly me the 30k owed and we will
go our ways
he did a a few months later the whole co went chap 11 bankrupt
so we dodged a bullet onnthat one...
I was told by a old vendor at a NYC trade show..hey tom why do you
getallthse big clients??? if they go down theywilltake youth them...\
it was frank ludlow sale he sold stills and memorabilia
he said get the mom ands as they pay onthespot with credit cards so you
don't need carry open acts//net 30////as most don't pay and go to net
690 or 9- ordontpay at all..
so the small shops were more reliable
you learn so much in 46 years buts Mel Told me..wheni asked Cani be
honest in the entrainment business
he said" yes..just remember there are some good guys and some not so
