She was a super person!
I was privileged to play in the orchestra for numerous performances of Sweeney Todd in Los Angeles in 1982. This was shortly before Murder She Wrote started. Besides being fantastic in the part and having tremendous energy (doing the role of Nellie Lovett probably close to 1000 performances, between Broadway, Kennedy Center, LA and other venues as part of a National Tour), she was an inspiration to everyone around her. Not a Diva bone in her body.
